Professor Kyoung Mu Lee has received the 2019 Great Professor Award from the SNU College of Engineering on May 15th.

 

The award was established in 1992 by the SNU College of Engineering alumni to promote active researches and advance the industrial technology.

Three professors have received the awards for education, research, and industry-university cooperation.

 

Prof. Kyoung Mu Lee, who is the winner of research award has been recognized for his contribution to the computer vision and machine learning area by publishing over 140 papers to major international conferences and journals while being cited over 10,000 times in recent years.

Other than research, professor Lee has founded the Korean Computer Vision Society in 2016 and is serving as the president.

Also, he has been appointed and serves as an Associative Editors-in-Chief of IEEE TPAMI (Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Learning) for the first time in Asia.

In this year, professor Lee will serve as a General Chair for the world-renowned ICCV 2019 (The IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision), which will be held in Seoul, Korea in October.

 

Kook Heon Cha, the dean of the College of Engineering, appreciated the reward and gave a big hand to professors for their great efforts which have been contributed to developing the Korean industry and technology.
